In the afternoon, visit Mihintale, the sacred hill known as the birthplace of Buddhism in Sri Lanka. Explore its ancient monastery, stupas, caves, and enjoy panoramic views across the surrounding countryside.
Overnight: Anuradhapura
After breakfast, drive to Polonnaruwa, the magnificent medieval capital of Sri Lanka and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore the ancient Royal Palace, temples, stupas, and the Gal Vihara rock sculptures.
In the afternoon, enjoy a safari in Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park, famous for the spectacular Elephant Gathering, where herds gather around the reservoirs.
Continue to Sigiriya for your overnight stay.
